Retail store cleaning for shops, showrooms, and grocery floors
Clean entrances, aisles, and restrooms every time you open the doors. The main clean runs before open or after close, when there are no shoppers in the way.
National Cleaning Group cleans retail stores, shopping center tenants, showrooms, and grocery sales floors. Work is scheduled around your open and close times, and the store is ready when the doors open.
What we clean in retail spaces
- Entrances and vestibules. Entry glass, door handles, mats, and floors, where weather and foot traffic hit first.
- Sales floors. Hard floors swept and mopped or scrubbed, carpet vacuumed, fixture fronts dusted at reach.
- Fitting rooms. Mirrors, benches, hooks, and floors, with clothing left for staff.
- Checkout areas. Counters, card readers, belts, and surrounding floors.
- Customer restrooms. Fixtures cleaned and disinfected, dispensers restocked, floors mopped.
- Back of house. Stockroom floors, break rooms, offices, and staff restrooms.
Before open, after close, and in between
The full clean happens when customers are gone. Crews scrub floors, detail restrooms, and clean glass with nobody stepping around wet floors.
During business hours, a spill in an aisle, a busy restroom on a Saturday afternoon, or fingerprints on the entry glass cannot wait until night. A day porter covers that work while you are open. Porter hours are priced separately, and most stores book them for their busiest days.
Floors that stand up to traffic
Foot traffic, carts, and weather wear retail floors down. Vinyl tile, polished concrete, luxury vinyl, and carpet each need different care. Beyond nightly cleaning, we schedule auto-scrubbing, burnishing, strip and refinish, and carpet extraction when the store is closed. See floor care for details.
Grocery stores
Grocery floors see heavier traffic and more spills than most retail. We clean sales floors, entrances, checkout lanes, customer restrooms, and break rooms, with auto-scrubbing on hard floors. Food-prep areas such as deli slicers and bakery equipment typically stay with your team or a specialty sanitation provider. If you want them included, ask during your assessment.
Multi-location retail
Every store should meet the same standard. We build one task list for your brand, set frequency by each store's size and hours, and assign a dedicated account manager to the whole account. A new location is added on the same terms.
Touchpoints customers touch
Door handles, checkout counters, card readers, cart handles, and restroom fixtures are disinfected on every visit. Extra touchpoint rounds during flu season can be added as a separate line. More on disinfection services.
Clear rules for your merchandise
Crews clean around product and fixtures. Merchandise stays where it is, clothing in fitting rooms goes back to your staff, and displays move only when a store manager schedules it. Every crew member follows the same rules.
Quality you can check
Store managers should not have to inspect the crew's work every morning. Supervisors run regular quality inspections, and your account manager handles missed items, schedule changes, and added work like a holiday reset, a remodel cleanup, or extra porter hours during a sale weekend.
Holiday hours, back-to-school traffic, and winter weather all change what a store needs. We adjust the schedule and porter hours with you ahead of each season and confirm the new price in writing.
Supplies and equipment
Many retailers buy restroom paper and soap through their own purchasing program, while we bring the cleaning equipment and chemicals. We agree on who supplies chemicals, equipment, paper, soap, and liners during the assessment.
How to start
Book a free facility assessment. We walk your store, note floor types, measure the sales floor and back of house, and review your hours. A written quote follows. For stores with attached offices, see office cleaning.

Questions facility managers ask
What does retail store cleaning include?
Entrances and vestibules, sales floors, fitting rooms, checkout areas, customer restrooms, break rooms, offices, and stockroom floors, each on its own frequency.
Do you clean before the store opens or after it closes?
Either. Most stores get their main clean after close or early in the morning before open. For stores that need help during open hours, a day porter handles spills, restrooms, and entry glass.
Can you service multiple store locations?
Yes. Multi-site programs use one task list across locations, adjusted for each store's size and hours, with a dedicated account manager for the whole account.
Do you clean grocery stores?
Yes. We clean grocery sales floors, entrances, checkout lanes, customer restrooms, and break rooms. Food-prep areas like deli and bakery equipment usually stay with your team.
How do you handle merchandise and displays?
Crews clean around merchandise and fixtures and leave product exactly where it sits. If a display needs to move for floor work, we schedule it with a store manager.
